Trail Description

The Golden Eagle Trail, because of its gorgeous scenery and challenging terrain, has been called the best day hike in Pennsylvania. The trail is an approximately nine mile loop, with much of the mileage taking place on the old logging and quarryman’s trails in Bonnell and Wolf Runs in the Wolf Run Wild Area. Pretty waterfalls, massive pines, relics of the old logging camps, splash dams, and quarries are just some sights along the way. The Raven’s Horn vista is sure to leave you breathless, inspired and weak-kneed all at the same time. The trail is wonderful for adventurous families. Points of Interest: Pine Creek vista at the Raven’s Horn, old logging and quarry relics, Pine Creek Rail Trail, wildlife. Please keep young children and dogs close at hand near the Raven’s Horn. In spring and at times of heavy runoff, it may not be possible to cross Bonnell and Wolf Runs without entering shallow water. Wear proper footwear. Rattlesnakes are plentiful in the Tiadaghton State Forest, and if you should meet one, please act respectfully. The Golden Eagle Trail begins at the Clark Farm/Utceter Station Recreational Parking Area approximately 2.7 miles north of the village of Cammal, along PA Route 414 in the Pine Creek Valley, Lycoming County.
