Trail Description

The Timber Trail is located along the Susquehanna River Walk, a 4 mile long paved bikeway/walkway loop along the levee system in the City of Williamsport, Borough of South Williamsport and Loyalsock Township. The Timber Trail Project is funded primarily by the Lumber Heritage Region with financial assistance from other local organizations and individuals. The Timber Trail Project highlights the areas rich lumber heritage through a series of interpretative panels and public art. The project also installs benches and garbage receptacles along the River Walk to make it an inviting recreation destination. Pam Madai Barner, a local artist from Muncy, has brought lumber heritage to life through a bronze woodhick sculpture installed to compliment the panels. The Susquehanna River Walk and Timber Trail projects lie within the State’s Lumber Heritage Region, Pennsylvania WILDS, and the Susquehanna Greenway System.
