Bedford Heritage Trail

The Bedford Heritage Trail is a significant piece of a larger effort to increase Bedford area recreational opportunities; preserve our green spaces; tell our pre-Revolutionary War and Whiskey Rebellion era stories; explain our role in 19th and 20th century transportation development, maintain our historic architectural assets; and underscore our two and one-half centuries of hospitality to travelers. In this regard, the trail is not only a physical connection between and among economic entities, but also an illustration of the symbiotic relationship that exists between outdoor recreation, historic preservation, and small town ambiance including niche shopping and architectural variety. In that sense the trail is a part of a larger mosaic that helps assure a certain level of prosperity for our residents and businesses.
