Susquehanna Warrior Trail
Easy
12.21 Miles
Columbia,
Luzerne
The trail follows the scenic Susquehanna River where hikers and bikers have a good chance to spot bald eagles, otters, heron and a multitude of other animals. Currently, there are 12.5 miles of trail completed from the Riverlands Park to Canal Park in West Nanticoke. The trail is about 10 feet wide, with a hard-packed surface of a finely crushed stone. The trail is adjacent to the old north branch canal, and other historical attractions. Much of the trail is shaded, providing relief from the summer sun. When completed, the Susquehanna Warrior Trail will extend 16 miles from the Riverlands Park to the Plymouth Borough Levee and connect with the levee trail system in Wilkes-Barre via the bridge at Carey Avenue.
