Trail Description

The South Mountain Preserve Trails consist of the multi-loop Alpine Street Trail, the Boulder Trail which is closed in spring and fall, and the Uplands Trail which begins near a powerline and can be difficult to navigate with steep slopes and soil erosion. The South Mountain Preserve is open to the public and used for a variety of recreational activities due to its natural attractiveness and proximity to highly populated residential areas. The most popular recreational activities occurring currently at Preserve include walking/hiking, mountain biking, boulder climbing, and nature observing, including bird watching and Geo-caching.
