Trail Description

Climb within rolling distance of several large boulders along the Rock Run Trail. Witness the affects of weathering on these fern-covered giants, pause to take in the Lyman Lake Vista (great for sunsets), and follow the path of a spur line of a logging railroad slowly downhill on the Spur Line Trail to return to the trailhead. While not heavily traveled, watch for vehicles on the Rock Run Road. Get water, take a quick swim in the lake, use the phone, or enjoy modern restrooms at the park’s day use area located only 1 mile from the trailhead. Points of Interest: Boulders, Lyman Lake Vista, and Logging Railroad. Trail Tips: Watch the stream after heavy rains. If you’re a rock hound, this one’s for you. Just remember that snakes like rocks too. Respect their home.
